My contribution is built around a field recording that was captured on the 16th of September 2022, at noon. The recording was made at Saluhallen in the city center of Gothenburg, Sweden.

Saluhallen is a big open space with a food market containing lots of small artisan shops, cafés and restaurants. It’s a busy place with a lot of people walking around, eating and talking. There are many competing sound sources but you can also hear patterns emerge in the busy soundscape if you listen carefully and long enough.

The field recording is not a part of the final track, only the music built around it is left for the listener to hear. This is a part of the RAM dogmas.

I like to re-use recorded sounds and explore them on different timelines using granular synthesis and tape machines to stretch out and change the pitch. This can also create new and interesting harmonics.
